268 Robin Drive, Sarasota, FL - Agent Walkthrough
Built on Bird Key in 2010, with custom craftsmanship by Bruce Saba Construction, and designed by its architectural-historian/ ASID owner, this very original, Lowcountry Style home exudes an air of Southern grace and charm with its attention to historical detail, lofty ceilings, and generous moldings and appointments.
This custom transitional 3BR home has been ingeniously angled on the site to capture the light of the day, with late afternoon light flooding the rear, as south light streams all day through the handsome front windows. The lush landscaping has mature trees, climbing bougainvillea, a privacy wall, and landscape lighting to create an elegant envelope of privacy and luxury.
The entrance to this home, a classic Georgian front door with a half-moon transom and sidelights, is enhanced by a welcoming, rocking-chair front porch and opens into the great room with soaring ceilings and a view through disappearing glass doors to the private, tropical landscape beyond.
The home has transom windows, a gas fireplace and stove, a built-in speaker system, 8’ solid wood interior doors, a screened lanai with an outdoor kitchen and natural gas grill and a heated salt-water pool. The gourmet kitchen boasts 2 sinks with garbage disposals, as well as 2 dishwashers, Thermador appliances, granite counters and custom cabinetry.
Additional features include hurricane-code safeguards, natural gas, foam insulation, hickory engineered flooring, an outdoor shower, and security cameras. One of the most prized communities in Sarasota, Bird Key affords the pleasures of a waterfront lifestyle with convenience to all of downtown’s exciting dining, shopping, and cultural amenities.
I'm Bruce Myer with Coldwell Banker. I would like to introduce you to one of the greatest garden homes on Bird Key. The house was built about 10 years ago and we have close to 4,000 square feet and it is a terrific floor plan. We have high ceilings/ and then if you follow me and you'll see it's a great open kitchen with a lot of details you'll see in the cabinetry, great window design, nice light coming in, gas cooktop which is very important.
It's a little bit of a chilly day today for Florida starting in the fifties, going to get up to 70 and sunny, but because it's a little cooler just look at the fireplace that we have. And it is a wonderful great room design as you'll see that as we pan over to the dining room and there was really a lot of thought put into the details.
And if we look up at the ceiling here you can see all the intricacy, cove lighting. And then if you notice this is one of the nicest pool areas I've seen. You have the table all set up for you for a nice evening, a cocktail, or a little dinner. The other thing too, there is a lot of overhead here and I always love it when you can sit outside and not be affected by the rain or the wind or the sun. Also, we have a cooking area, it has an outdoor grill.
And then if you'll notice how you have a lot of privacy, there's a lot of landscaping around and really a super design with the pool in a V-shape with a water feature. I'm Bruce Meyer, see you on the Key.
