How Good Does My Credit Score Need to Be?

Your FICO score (an acronym for Fair Isaac Corporation) will determine the amount of the loan, the interest rate and the percentage of the money you need to put down. The better your score the better the loan terms will be. A score of 700 or more is considered excellent. When your score drops into the 600s is good, 500s is risky. Below that, you may not qualify.
 

What’s the Difference Between a Condo and a Townhouse?

The difference is in what you actually own. Ownership in a condo means you own everything inside the condo including plumbing, electricity, and fixtures, etc.. You pay a maintenance fee to cover the external part of the structure such as the roof, steps, landscaping and any other common areas on the property. Townhouse ownership means you own the structure just as you would a single-family detached home, except you have a communal wall. You own the land underneath the townhouse including the yard, steps, patio, and garden. Most townhouses have HOA’s in place to cover the maintenance of the common areas.
