Water Sports on Longboat Key?

Kayaking in longboat key

For those in your posse that are not golf fanatics, Longboat Key beaches await! The salty breeze, the palm trees, and the tropical background make up some of the most breathtaking scenery you will find anywhere. With turquoise water and calm surf, grab a paddleboard and explore the water.

Longboat Key One of the Best Place to Charter a Boat

A great way to explore Longboat Key is via a chartered Longboat Key boat tour. Let the captain and the crew handle the navigation while you sit back and relax, take in the breathtaking views and feel the wind in your hair. Give Catherine’s Florida Charters a call or if you’re comfortable behind the helm, a Longboat Key boat rental affords you the unique opportunity to explore the area by water at your own leisure. By renting your own personal watercraft, you'll get to see a side of Florida that is not visible by car. Cannons Marina on Gulf of Mexico Drive is your best option for boat rentals.

Best restaurants on Longboat Key?

For breakfast, Harry's Continental Kitchen is known as one of the best breakfast places on Longboat Key and for Sunday brunch. Known for its incredible menu choices and fabulous service, it’s no wonder people choose this restaurant for breakfast over and over again. Some of my top recommended dishes are the eggs Benedictus, German pancakes, seafood omelets, and their banana bread.

After a morning of golf or water sport, you’re ready for a delicious lunch and one of my favorite restaurants is The Dry Dock on the south end of Gulf of Mexico Drive. This restaurant has been a favorite of locals since 1989. You can enjoy patio dining with a panoramic view of Sarasota Bay while munching down on fresh Grouper, crab cakes, and more.

Bet you didn’t know that the five Columbia restaurants in Florida, including the bustling St. Armands Circle branch, together are the largest users of Worcestershire sauce in the U.S. As your waiter serves you the Columbia’s famed 1905 salad with a dash of Worcestershire, note that on any given day in-season, the restaurant serves an average 750-plus of the garlicky dish, named for the date the original restaurant in Tampa’s Ybor City was founded. (Now you know why the company uses so much Worcestershire sauce.) The 1905 salad is a must-order, along with half a Cuban sandwich.

Another great option is the Lazy Lobster on Gulf of Mexico Drive. This restaurant has a reputation for being one of the best restaurants in the area due to its fresh ingredients and the chef’s willingness to accommodate any dietary restriction. The food is always excellent as is the scenery and the service. We suggest starting off with the lobster bisque as your beginning course and the lazy lobster meal as your main dish. If you have room left, don’t miss out on the chocolate brownie crème Brulee. We promise you won’t be disappointed!

For fine dining out with family, the Euphemia Haye Restaurant has been a staple of Longboat Key for over sixteen years and is still as amazing as the day they opened. They are best known for their duck and sweet nut bread, but most visitors can’t stop talking about their dessert room on the second floor. There is plenty of variety to choose from when it comes to your dinner, and no matter what you order, it is always guaranteed to be delicious.

You will find fantastic shopping, especially at St. Armand's Circle, just minutes away from Longboat Key. It is a magical place to explore. and well worth the quick drive. St. Armand's Circle is probably the most famous shopping destination in the area so if you are looking for a jeweler, upscale boutiques, spas, beauty salons, and even art galleries; you've found the right place.
