However one analyzes the current housing trends in the Sarasota area, the conclusion is the same….it’s a seller’s market on Longboat Key and this shows no sign of slowing. The idea of a “slow season” is a thing of the past. Realtors used to be busiest during the winter months, what we once called “the Season”. That is no longer the case. The past few summers have been as busy as the high season. All of this is happening without the addition of international buyers who have had restrictions on travel because of the pandemic. I expect this buyer group to return this season adding to market demand.
Where is the market heading? My guess for this coming season is that it will continue to be a seller’s market on Longboat Key and the demand will continue. What we can bank on is the fundamentals that created the foundation of attractiveness and desirability in the Sarasota and Longboat Key market will only continue to grow.
