Sarasota MOD Tickets Now On Sale

This very popular three-day festival takes place Nov. 2-5 and this year, will celebrate the centennial of Sarasota School architect Victor Lundy—if you live in Sarasota and don’t know the architect’s name, you know his work. The three-day festival kicks off with an opening party at the Sarasota Garden Club at The Bay and includes kayak tours of North Siesta Key, self-guided tours of Sarasota’s modern hubs, Lido Shores and South Gate, with full access to many Sarasota School gems; Sarasota MOD Weekend passes and individual event tickets are available for purchase for both Architecture Sarasota Members and the general public – click here to secure yours. 

Sarasota Moves Closer to Permanent Street Dining

Outdoor dining enthusiasts are one step closer to a permanent policy to allow them to eat in the streets of downtown Sarasota. By a 3-2 vote on first reading, the City Commission approved an ordinance to permit restaurants to occupy parking spaces on streets adjacent to their businesses for “parklet” dining. There are some restrictions, such as no live entertainment or amplified music is permitted in the parklet.
