The city of Sarasota, the town of Longboat Key, and the Florida Department of Transportation are working together to bring crossing guards to the two busiest areas on the Circle – John Ringling Boulevard heading toward the Circle and North Boulevard of the Presidents, heading toward Longboat Key. The crossing guards, who haven’t yet been hired, will be positioned there from noon to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday, from March 13 to April 12.

Sarasota’s love and appreciation of the cultural arts is highlighted in many ways throughout the community, including the City’s public art program, which at the start of 2020 expanded citywide. Multi-family, mixed-use and commercial developments throughout the city limits with a construction value exceeding $1 million are required to provide a public art contribution in the form of approved artwork or a defined financial contribution, which funds public art. The program helps highlight Sarasota as the state’s top cultural arts destination on the west coast.

By signing up for Sarasota County’s FREE property fraud alerts, you will receive an email alert whenever a document is recorded in Sarasota County’s Official Records using your personal or business name. Notifications are sent within 48 hours of the document being recorded, alerting you so you can choose to review documents through public records, or dispute through law enforcement.
