Inventory Rising in a Still Competitive Market

Any news of improved inventory is good news for home buyers. That’s why recently released numbers from one online real-estate portal are encouraging. The analysis found that active listings have now risen 16% above where they were at their 2021 low. But while inventory has improved, it’s still much lower than normal. And, in July, 89% of homes sold in Sarasota were on the market for less than a month.
 
Short-term rentals and holiday lets are booming in many destination markets, including Longboat Key. A recent check with AirBnB for random dates of January 2022 through March 31, 2022, reveals one property listed available. Needless to say, this is an excellent opportunity for anyone interested in purchasing an income property, but for snowbirds who may have waited to secure their place this winter, it might be difficult.
